Holga WOCA 120 GF
The WOCA 120 GF was made by Holga. It was different than the standard Holga because it had a glass lens and a flash. The WOCA name was eventually dropped and this model became the Holga 120 GFN.
Other than the name and glass lens, what is the difference? Not much this is a Holga. I have now shot a few Holga. The original 120 S, the 120 N improved S and the 120 CFN. Each has different features but remains true to the original Holga design and experience.
My Take:
I found this one at a garage sale, almost new in the box. How could I say no? At first I thought it might be a copy but a quick search told me it was just a name difference.
I can not say that the glass lens was a big improvement over the standard plastic lens, but my test was a bit unfair. I shot the WOCA with some Konica Centuria Super 100 that I got when I purchased some other camera. It was out of it’s packaging. I have no idea when it expired but can guess it was not recently. I also, suspect it was not cold stored. It lived a hard life only to end up in a garage sale Holga.
I like the Holga and the WOCA was a nice example. I like the lack of precision and predictability. Using abusively expired film may be too lo-fi, even for me. Happiness is the extremes of a Holga and a Leica in the same bag. Get over it and go shoot.
