Black Minolta Hi-Matic 7sII
It is a scientific fact that black cameras take better photos and this Minolta Hi-Matic 7sII is proof.
I shot this camera before but in chrome: so everything I said about it in Chrome X Black = Infinity better. Because black cameras take better photos and I can prove it with science.
- Black does not reflect light the way chrome does. (Why do you think the inside of cameras are black?) Therefore you will get less reflection off the camera and thus a better photo.
- 99% of cameras look better in black. If your camera looks good, you feel better about yourself and if you feel good about yourself, you take better photos. If your photos still suck, look at that fantastic black camera and be happy again.
- Black cameras are more hip. People who know nothing about photography will see your black camera and assume that you are an artist. So, even if your photo is crap, you can call it art and no one want to admit they don't appreciate art, no matter how bad.
There, scientific proof that black cameras take better photos. Plus, now I've put it on the internet, so it must be true.
My Take:
There are three kinds of photographers: people who don't care about the color of the camera (they don't count), people who know that black cameras are better, and people who are wrong.
Seriously, black or chrome, the Hi-Matic 7sII is a fantastic camera. I highly recommend it (especially in black). As further proof that black cameras are better, a black 7sII will cost you significantly more than the standard chrome. If you are secure enough in your ability, you should be able to get (almost) the same result from both.
