Minolta Zoom 70

The 1995 Minolta Freedom Zoom 70 was also called Riva Zoom 70 in some markets. It came in Black or Silver.

Mid-90s and the last thing a camera company would want if for the user to have to do anything technical. So, other than the manual slide on the bottom that open the lens cover and turn the camera on. You can pop in a roll of film, have it auto load, read the DX film speed, auto wind and auto rewind. If you want more control you can turn the auto flash off. Plus the zoom lens is a powered motor but you have to push the button. Plus you have to point it and depress the shutter button.

My Take:

The Freedom Zoom 70 is larger in the hand than it looks. Bit on the thick side. Clearly a consumer focused camera from the 90s. Nothing specifically bad about the Zoom 70 but also nothing specifically inspiring about it. A fun charity store find but not major treasure. Made for a nice use of some very expired film.

Lens: Minolta Aspherical 35mm-70mm f5.3 to f9.8

Film: Fuji 100 Expired
