Canon Sure Shot Z115
1993 Canon added the Sure Shot Z115 to the Sure Shot consumer line. In other markets it was know as the Autoboy S or the Prima Super 115N.
The Sure Shot line was popular for Canon and the Z115 was a premium consumer point and shoot. Well constructed with easy operations. An eight step wheel on the back controls shooting modes. Top shutter speed of 1200. The lens is a zoom of 38 to 115 mm. At the max 115 mm, the maximum f8.5 aperture seem a bit weak but there is a built in flash to save the day.
My Take:
I am always a sucker for a cheap point and shoot buy. When it has film showing through the window, I am twice as interested. This one had a roll of expired Fuji 100. I love getting part rolls because even if the camera is not fully functioning, I get the bonus of developing a roll of lost film.
This Z115 had some usage marks but came to life with a new set of CR 123 batteries. And seem to function properly. I finished the roll and pulling it out of the developer saw that at some point the back must have been opened and exposed some of the prior shots. But the shots I took were fine and a few of the prior owner’s. Inducing the first frame below of, I assume, the original owner. If you know him tell him I said, thanks for the camera.
The Z 115 feels good in the hand. It is intuitive to shoot. Image quality was decent. Nice Goodwill find.
