Olympus Infinity SuperZoom 3000 DLX

The Olympus Infinity SuperZoom 3000 DLX, also known as the OZ110 Zoom in Japan, was introduced in 1992.

The Infinity SuperZoom/OZ line ran concurrently with the Stylus/ Mju line from Olympus. The SuperZoom group seems to have over thirty models between 1992 and 2002. I found much less about the OZ/SuperZoom models than I did about the Stylus/Mju line. The 3000 is a standard point and shoot zoom with full features for flash and zoom. I claim to be weather proof but I would not push it too far as nothing seem very sealed.

My Take:

The 3000 is bulky for a compact. Despite the label on top that says, “ULTRA COMPACT 38 - 100 ZOOM”, I did not find the 3000 to be that “ULTRA” or very “COMPACT”. Not a bad camera just not an exceptional camera. I was happy with it as a charity store find. It did a decent job outside in adequate light. It struggled in lower light. The last shot is inside at night. It also shows the Airport Police rolling up on me, because of reports of a suspicious person taking surveillance type photos. After they saw my $5 Goodwill find and I explained that I was just finishing a test roll, they decided I was not much of a threat and wished me a nice flight.

Lens: Olympus Zoom 38-110mm
