Canon A35 F
1978 I was graduating from HS and Canon was selling the A35F, maybe with the hope that my parents would give me one for graduation. If would have been a nice gift. But my parents opted for the not so subtle hint of luggage as a graduation gift.
The A35F is a fully automatic camera. You control the focus with a very short throw focus ring on the lens. The camera does the rest. Even the flash if you decide to engage it. I am not a big flash user but having it available could be useful.
This is a nice size camera. It is just a bit larger than the Canonet but with a flash and a lighter weight. The quality is not as good as the Canonet but still a nice camera.
Shortfalls that I see are the dependent on the PX625 battery and a AA for the flash. The rewind lever feels a bit flimsy and catches on things. Opening the backdoor is by a slide that is not that easy for my fat fingers. None of the shortfalls are enough to put me off the A35F.
My Take:
I would grab the A35F especially if I knew I would be in a lowlight situation and could use the flash. The versatility makes it a nice option.
